Woven Rocks Workshop | Aug 10th 2pm-5pm

Taught by Jean Reed of Murray Hill Weaving
Hill, New Hampshire

Class & Materials: $90

Curious about weaving? Come try something new and unexpected, weaving on rocks!

Spend a few hours with Jean Reed in this welcoming and artistic shop and let your creativity flow. Bring your friends or family and let her show you how to weave on rocks. This unusual art form introduces some of the most basic weaving techniques using materials like jute, leather, waxed linen, and other cordages.

Learning to weave on rocks is a simple and grounding way to get started with weaving, perfect for beginners or anyone looking to explore something new.

This is a great way to embellish rocks you may have picked up on trails, beaches, or during your travels. Some of her rocks have come from Ireland and Colorado, while others gathered from New Hampshire riverbeds will be supplied for class, along with all tools and materials needed to create your own unique weaving patterns.

You're welcome to bring rocks of your own and a few small branches (twisted grapevine or pieces of driftwood work beautifully). When collecting rocks, keep in mind that no shape or size should be overlooked—flat ones are easiest to work with, but round or oddly shaped stones offer a fun challenge. Suggested sizes: small (at least 3") to large (4–5").
